Meet Heino

My name is Heino Doessing. I was born and raised in Denmark. After serving as a municipal councillor and completing my graduate studies in economics, I moved to Canada in 2010. I started in Toronto and lived in Saskatchewan before settling in Hamilton with my partner and our two boys. Hamilton is home. I love Hamilton. I love the vibrant community, easy access to stunning nature, and the city’s growth opportunities.

I want my kids and their generation to live in the Ontario that Ontarians have been proud of for decades; an inclusive Ontario, where you can achieve your dreams if you reach for them, and where we have a social and healthcare safety net to support us when needed. The Progressive Conservatives are dismantling that Ontario. I can’t stand on the sidelines and let that happen, which is why I represented the Ontario Liberal Party in 2025 provincial election and continue to speak up for Hamilton East-Stoney Creek.

For over a decade, I have worked in finance – with one of Canada’s largest accounting firms and for some of the country’s largest pension and private equity funds. This community deserves better—better representation, better opportunities, and better support. People are struggling with rising costs, limited access to healthcare, and underfunded schools. I believe in listening to what people need, not just what’s convenient. Together, we can build a future where everyone has a chance to thrive, and where our voices are heard at Queen’s Park.
